How to remain healthy with the use of skipping rope fitness technique?

Have you come across all these skipping rope competitions? Well if you have, then you shouldn’t be surprised to know that most of the participants of this competition actually turn out to be adults than children! Skipping is no longer a kid’s game or exercise; it’s now open for everyone right from six year olds to sixty year olds! If I am right then I guess you would have probably been hooked onto skipping when you were a kid and gave it up eventually as you grew up. I would say- get back to the skipping! At least for the sake of exercising! Skipping rope fitness technique has become a popular exercise today, and a total age no bar kind of fitness.

Now this doesn’t mean you have to immediately jump out of your bed and run to a near by sports meet and enroll yourself in the competition. This is just for the sake of keeping your body fit and healthy. If you still think skipping is a kid’s game, then you are wrong. Skipping provides so many benefits for everyone irrespective of their ages. It turns out to be good for lung and heart fitness, coordination and flexibility. It also helps you to trim your hips, backsides and thighs, and helps to build bones.

This activity apparently turns out to be one of the most important cardiovascular exercises and also has a lesser impact on your bones and muscles when you jog or run. The cost of the equipment is also very less. There are many athletes who include rope skipping as a part of their regular workout. And like I said there are so many rope skipping competitions being held today and if you had a chance to witness one of them, then you might have noticed the various jumping techniques used by the people and the complexities of the same. Skipping turns out to be an excellent exercise that you can do at your place if the weather makes it impossible to go out for a jog or a walk.

The basic exercise involved here is to simply swing the rope over your head and skip over it. You can however vary by trying to skip backwards making sure your feet are together or you can try using a jogging step or try twisting as you jump, swinging your rope either backwards or forwards. You can also try crossing you arms while swinging the rope or you can jump only once while swinging your rope many times.

You are actually giving your arm muscles an exercise while you are swinging the skipping rope and with every jump, you also exercise your lower legs. Hence skipping rope fitness technique helps in the development of your cardio and muscular endurance as well as making your muscles well coordinated and stronger.  Skipping rope can also help to slow down osteoporosis, by using this exercise as a weight bearing exercise.  So, start now, go get you a rope and start jumping.
